Irish American Cultural Institute Rochester Chapter

The Irish American Cultural Institute Rochester Chapter is dedicated to promoting an intelligent appreciation of Ireland and celebrating the significant contributions of Irish Americans to American society. Based in Rochester, NY, the chapter hosts a diverse array of cultural programs and events designed to educate, engage, and inspire the community. Working in partnership with St. John Fisher College, the organization presents lectures, presentations, and celebrations that highlight Irish arts, literature, history, and heritage. Recent programming has included scholarly presentations on renowned Irish poets and writers, bringing together community members to explore the rich intellectual and artistic traditions of Ireland. The Rochester chapter maintains collaborative relationships with other Irish cultural organizations in the region, including Comhaltas Ceoltori Eirann, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the St. John Fisher College Irish Studies Program. An advisory board of directors oversees all sponsored events and hosts an annual awards meeting that celebrates the depth and breadth of Irish arts represented in the Rochester community. As part of the national Irish American Cultural Institute—a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1962—the Rochester Chapter operates with a strictly apolitical and nonsectarian approach.
