Irish American Alliance

The Irish American Alliance, based in Hickory Hills, IL, is a dynamic non-profit social club dedicated to bringing together Irish Americans from the Chicago area, particularly the South Side and South Suburbs communities. Since its establishment in 1990, the organization has grown to approximately three hundred active members who share a passion for Irish heritage and community engagement. The Alliance sponsors a comprehensive calendar of activities and events designed to appeal to diverse member interests, including an annual picnic, annual golf outing, and the popular Halfway to St. Patrick's Day White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field. Members also enjoy cultural outings such as trips to Irish-themed plays and shows, lectures on topics of interest, and participation in the annual Milwaukee Irish Fest. The organization maintains structured governance with monthly officer and trustee meetings, ensuring effective leadership and quarterly member meetings that keep the community connected. Beyond social activities, the Irish American Alliance operates an affiliated Charitable Corporation that has engaged in numerous charitable initiatives over the years. The organization is currently working toward a long-term goal of establishing an Irish American Retirement Home, demonstrating its commitment to serving the broader Irish American community in the Chicago region.
