Charitable Irish Society

The Charitable Irish Society, serving the Lincoln, MA community and beyond, provides comprehensive support services focused on immigrant assistance and community empowerment. Since its founding in 1737, the organization has maintained a steadfast commitment to delivering practical aid to individuals and families in need. The Society operates multiple programs designed to help immigrants navigate the complexities of resettlement, including employment assistance, housing support, and educational resources. A cornerstone of their work involves citizenship support, with the organization having processed and submitted over 1,000 citizenship applications to the Immigration and Naturalization Service since 1996. Working collaboratively with partner organizations including the Irish International Immigrant Center and the Irish Pastoral Centre, the Society offers workshops covering employment, housing, education, finance, health, and legal matters at multiple locations. Beyond direct assistance, the organization hosts the annual Silver Key Awards Reception, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exemplary service to immigrants, with all funds raised dedicated to emergency relief efforts. The Society also maintains strong cultural programming, including the traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner held annually on March 17, celebrating fellowship and community connection. Through membership opportunities and donation programs, the organization continues its historic mission of alleviating suffering and supporting those facing hardship in the Lincoln, MA area and throughout Massachusetts.
