Ceili of the Valley Society

Céilí of the Valley Society offers authentic Celtic social dance classes and cultural events throughout Salem, Oregon and the Willamette Valley. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2006, they provide weekly Tuesday evening dance classes at 6:30 PM at the VFW Hall, featuring instruction in traditional céilí dancing with live calling and music. Their monthly Céilí Mor gatherings on the second Friday of each month combine live music, called dancing, and authentic Celtic food in a welcoming community setting.

The organization specializes in preserving and perpetuating Celtic heritage through educational programming and public access to Irish and Celtic dance traditions. Their services include professional instruction in Celtic dance techniques, research and documentation of dance history, and community cultural events suitable for all ages and skill levels. Céilí of the Valley Society also hosts the annual Samhain Celtic New Year Festival, a family-friendly celebration featuring live performances, traditional music, and cultural demonstrations.

All activities are inclusive and welcoming to participants regardless of Celtic heritage or prior dance experience. Classes are affordable at $5 per session with a complimentary first class for newcomers, and no dance partner is required. The organization actively nurtures the next generation of Celtic dance callers and musicians to ensure the continuation of vibrant cultural traditions in Salem and throughout the region.
